How did you find your job at Scherpenhuizen?
A friend from my hometown in Romania connected me with someone working here. We spoke, and I decided to give it a try. My wife and I came, and it worked out well.
What was your first role and how did you progress?
I started on the production line. After a week, a team leader noticed how I worked and offered me the chance to become an operator. I said yes, and within two weeks I was in that role. Since then, I’ve kept growing, and now even the assistant director knows me.
What does a typical workday look like for you?
I usually start earlier than the main production shift to prepare the line and get everything ready. My team knows their roles, and we work together closely. I stay on the line with them to solve any issues. At first it was stressful, but now I know the machines well and can handle any problems with the support of my colleagues.
Do your family members work with you?
My brother works with me, but my wife works in regular production. She tried being an operator, but it wasn’t for her—it can be stressful.
What do you think is important for someone to succeed in this job?
It’s not about special skills—it’s about having a good work ethic and being organized. The job isn’t too heavy or too cold; people just need the right attitude.
I’m happy here. I’ve grown professionally, I work with good people, and my family is here with me. I would encourage others to take opportunities and not be afraid of challenges—it’s worth it.
Experience with SBA
How was your first impression of SBA?
Very positive. From the start, communication was clear. Livia, the recruiter in Romania, helped us with English tests and travel arrangements. When we arrived, the driver and the office staff welcomed us warmly and explained everything step-by-step.
And your coordinators?
I mainly work with Madalina and sometimes Marzena. Communication with both is good, and I get help whenever I need it. Even if one doesn’t answer, the other will.
Would you recommend SBA to others?
Absolutely. I’ve already recommended it to friends from Romania—they’re now working and happy here. I believe SBA is better than many other agencies I’ve seen.
